Argos, hometown of two of the greatest heroes of mythology, Perseus and Hercules, is one of the oldest cities in Greece and an immense, timeless "museum" with numerous finds in every historical period. Visit the central square with the famous St. Peter's Church and the Court Square, near the Museum, with an ancient fountain in the center. Around the imposing church, a network of paved pedestrian streets is the city's commercial center. Also, the neoclassical building of the Railway Station of 1900 and the many neoclassical buildings such as Kostantopouleio and Bousoulopouleio will surely charm you. Moreover, the Pyramid of Hellinikon, the ancient theater of Argos, the ancient market, Larissa (the Acropolis of ancient Argos) and the tombs of the Hill of Aspida, are some of the unique ancient monuments of the city that will make you feel its historic aura.
